We offer emergency food or financial support to:
~ Howard County, MD residents with legitimate needs ~
FISH may be able to help when residents are at risk of utility cut off or eviction, when they are forced to choose between buying food or medicine for their families, or when other unexpected crises arise.
Our program supports young families, single parents, senior citizens, working individuals, the chronically ill, physically or mentally handicapped – a wide range of ages and backgrounds.
How is FISH Different from Other Aid Groups?
Our goal is to provide services for emergency needs on a Quick Response, Short-Term basis (QRST) when crises arise and other assistance is not available, or not accessible in time to solve the problem. FISH services are intended to complement, rather than replace or duplicate services offered elsewhere.
For longer-term assistance, our volunteers refer clients to county agencies and other community services.
